Terms of Service
Takes effect the day the app is publicly released
This English version is a translation for convenience; the Korean version prevails.
Article 1 (Purpose)
- These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the Dokidoki Officetel app (the "Service"), operated by 주식회사 하이퍼리티 (Hyperity, Inc.; the "Company"), and the rights and duties of the Company and members.
Article 2 (The Service)
- The Service is a character chat service in which generative AI makes the dialogue and pictures. All characters and events are fictional, and every character is 20 or older.
- AI-written dialogue is not fact or advice, and the Company does not guarantee its accuracy.
Article 3 (Eligibility)
- Members must be 18 or older; anyone 17 or younger cannot sign up.
- The content of the Service is heart-fluttering romance, with no nudity or depiction of sex.
Article 4 (Sign-up)
- Members sign up with a mobile number, an email address or a Google account and must agree to the required terms. New members receive 30 hearts once.
- Visitors who have not signed up can play the first character they meet to the end of chapter 1.
- Without signing up, a user who agrees to these terms can use every feature as a guest and buy hearts. A guest account lives on that device only: if the app is deleted or the device changed without linking an account, the hearts and the progress cannot be recovered; linking an account carries them on and brings the welcome gift.
Article 5 (Hearts)
- Hearts are a paid digital item used for conversations and the paid features in the Service. Each message uses 1 heart, returned if the reply fails to generate. The price of any other paid feature is shown on screen before you use it. Scene pictures are free to view once the story reaches the scene.
- In the app, hearts are sold only as in-app purchases through the App Store or Google Play, charged to your store account, and granted as soon as the store confirms the purchase. Hearts cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to other members.
- Hearts received free, such as the welcome gift or check-in rewards, are used first; hearts bought are used in the order they were bought.
- The Company may give hearts free of charge through events or codes. A code works once per account, within its set period and number of uses; hearts received this way are free hearts and are not refunded.
Article 6 (Withdrawal and refunds)
- Withdrawals and refunds follow the Refund Policy.
- Money charged in excess through the Company’s fault is refunded in full. Money overpaid through a member’s own mistake is refunded too, less the reasonable cost of refunding it.
- A purchase a minor member made without the legal guardian’s consent can be cancelled by the member or the guardian (Korean Civil Act, Article 5) — except a purchase within money the guardian allowed the minor to spend (Article 6), or where the minor used deception to be taken as of age or as having the guardian’s consent (Article 17). How: the Refund Policy, "Purchases by minors".
Article 7 (Leaving)
- Members can delete their account at any time in the app (Me → Delete account).
- On deletion, all hearts left disappear — free and bought alike. The deletion screen shows how many are left (bought ones included), and its button opens only after you separately agree that they will disappear. A purchase made within 7 days can still be withdrawn first, before deleting (Refund Policy).
Article 8 (Prohibited conduct and restrictions)
- Requesting minors or settings suggestive of minors, real people, or coerced or violent sexual content
- Using automated means or dishonest methods to obtain hearts
- Using another person's account or personal information
- If a member does any of the above, the Company may restrict the member's use for a set period, telling the member the reason and the period. The member can appeal by email to support@hyperitycorp.com, and the Company reviews the appeal and answers.
Article 9 (AI-made content and reports)
- The dialogue and pictures of the Service are made by generative AI (Korea's AI Basic Act, Article 31).
- If an AI reply seems inappropriate, you can report it right in the app (long-press a message in the chat → "Report") or by email to support@hyperitycorp.com. The Company reviews reports and acts as needed.
Article 10 (Changes and suspension)
- The Company may change or suspend the Service for operational or technical reasons and will give advance notice of significant changes.
- Before ending a service that uses hearts, the Company gives 30 days' notice in the app and by email, and refunds paid hearts not yet used.
Article 11 (Changes to these terms)
- Changes to these terms are announced in the app 7 days before they take effect; changes against members 30 days before, and each member is also told by email or similar.
Article 12 (Limitation of liability)
- The Company is not liable for damage caused by events beyond its control, such as natural disasters or outages of external services (app stores included).
Article 13 (Disputes)
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are settled by the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
Addendum
- These terms take effect on the day the app is publicly released.
